Northwestern Medicine Glenview Outpatient Center expands services after multiyear project

The Northwestern Medicine Glenview Outpatient Center is now open to patients following the completion of a multiyear expansion and modernization project, according to a March 11 announcement. The center's updated facilities aim to increase access to specialty care for residents of the North Shore, with leadership and staff marking the occasion at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 2.

The expansion is intended to address the growing needs of the community by offering more comprehensive healthcare options in one location. The new features include additional space for cardiovascular services, rheumatology infusion offerings, and advanced wound care treatments.

Karin B. Ulstrup, MD, medical director of the Northwestern Medicine Glenview Outpatient Center, said, “Providing our patients with exceptional care begins with creating the right environment for their individual needs. Our expanded footprint and the new program offerings allow us to serve more patients, while maintaining the compassionate experience they expect from Northwestern Medicine. We are grateful for the opportunity to deepen our commitment to the community that we are so proud to serve.”

The Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute has doubled its exam rooms and cardiac testing spaces at this location, allowing for expanded cardiology and vascular services. The addition also includes workrooms and collaboration spaces designed to support coordinated care among physicians and staff. For rheumatology patients, non-oncology infusion services are now available onsite for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. The new Wound Care Center offers specialized therapies including biomedically engineered skin grafts and growth factor therapy.

Andrea Saenim, vice president of operations at Northwestern Medicine, said, "This project reflects our long-term investment in providing world-class care right here in Glenview. By bringing more services under one roof and expanding our clinical capacity, we are ensuring that our patients can access the care they need, even if they require more complex care, closer to home. Our teams are proud to open this space and to continue growing alongside the Glenview community.”
