Bedfont Scientific Limited is marking International Women’s Day 2026 by recognizing the contributions of women in the Med-Tech sector. The company, which has nearly five decades of experience in designing and manufacturing medical breath analysis devices, is focusing on how women are driving innovation within its ranks.
International Women’s Day (IWD), now in its 115th year, aims to highlight women's achievements and raise awareness about gender equality issues. This year’s theme, “Give to gain,” emphasizes reciprocity and support as key drivers for progress. Bedfont reports that women comprise half of its workforce and nearly half of its 18 managerial positions, illustrating the impact of providing equal access to leadership roles.
A statement from Bedfont says: “By giving women equal access to leadership opportunities, Bedfont has built a diverse and balanced team. Today, women make up 50 % of the workforce and nearly half of the companies' 18 managers, proof that inclusion creates tangible gains for people and performance alike.”
Across Europe, Switzerland stands out with women representing 40% of its Med-Tech industry workforce. However, recent research shows that among the largest medical device firms in Europe, only about a quarter of leadership positions are held by women. This highlights persistent challenges in achieving gender parity at senior levels across the industry.
To mark IWD this year, Bedfont is acknowledging female employees throughout the organization with sustainably sourced chocolate from N2 Sweets Lab—a local business partner. According to Bedfont: “This initiative reflects the company’s broader commitment to sustainability while supporting both local businesses and third-party partners worldwide, reinforcing a give-to-gain approach that benefits people, communities, and the planet.”
