David Liao, MD, has joined The Centers for Advanced ENT Care (CAdENT) – Siegel, Bosworth and Sorensen Division in Rockville, Maryland. Dr. Liao is a native of Montgomery County and expressed enthusiasm about returning to the D.C. area to serve the community where he grew up.
Dr. Liao holds an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, where he was recognized as a Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholar and graduated magna cum laude. Before entering medicine, he worked at the National Institutes of Health on projects such as 3D printing imaging phantoms, developing a video game-based incentive spirometer device, and building an exoskeleton for cerebral palsy rehabilitation.
He earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and received a Distinction in Research in Clinical Investigation for his work related to ear, nose, and throat research. Dr. Liao completed his five-year surgical residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Mount Sinai/New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City. During this time, he trained with leading otolaryngologists across various subspecialties and gained experience caring for diverse patient populations.
Dr. Liao treats a range of ear, nose, and throat conditions but has a particular interest in managing chronic nasal obstruction and rhinosinusitis through endoscopic sinus surgery and office-based procedures. He emphasized his commitment to helping patients achieve healthy nasal breathing: "Dr. Liao is passionate about helping patients achieve healthy nasal breathing and resolve their sinonasal problems."
