Discovery Behavioral Health acquires treatment center for 'increasingly challenging health environment'

Discovery Behavioral Health (DBH) has recently acquired Memorial Hermann Prevention & Recovery Center (PaRC) and its network of outpatient locations.

Along with the retention of its PaRC name, the Prevention & Recovery Center will continue focusing on treating alcoholism, drug addiction and dual diagnosis patients in the Houston area.

"In an increasingly challenging health environment, we are pleased that Houston-area patients will continue to have access to the crucial programs, services and exceptional patient care that PaRC has provided, which will now be carried forward by the team at DBH," Dr. David Callender, President and CEO of Memorial Hermann, told Cision PR Newswire. "DBH has deep expertise in the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, and a record of outstanding patient care that will be foundational in continuing the high-quality care for which PaRC is recognized."

Both organizations are ensuring there is a smooth transition, including an uninterrupted service and treatment for current PaRC patients. The sale was subject to customary closing conditions, including the completion of regulatory review processes, according to Discovery Behavioral Health.

DBH President and CEO John Peloquin is proud of the organization’s comprehensive addiction treatment programs and the team of experienced professionals backing the programs and its core clinical curriculum.

Discovery Behavioral Health, headquartered in Orange County, California, is a behavioral health care network, providing accessible, evidence-based care within community-based centers.  Its services include treatments for eating disorders, mental health, substance use and psychiatric concerns.
