Distribution agreement signed between Gyros Protein Technologies, Abacus ALS

Abacus ALS is now the exclusive distributor of Gyros Protein Technologies’ immunoassay products throughout New Zealand and Australia, including the Gyrolab xP workstation, Gyrolab xPlore, Bioaffy CDs, Gyrolab kits and Rexxip buffers, as well as related reagents and services.

Gyros Protein Technologies is known as a pioneer in automated nanoliter-scale immunoassays and a leading provider of peptide synthesizers and reagents.

“Abacus ALS has a proven track record with over 50 years of experience in building successful partnerships and providing excellent service and technical support in the region,” Peter Luk, vice president for the Asia-Pacific region at Gyros Protein Technologies, said. “This strong market presence and reputation make them an ideal distribution partner for our immunoassay products. We are pleased to be working with Abacus ALS to build our network of customers in Australia and New Zealand.”

A March 2016 merger of Gyros AB and Protein Technologies Inc. formed the company now known as Gyros Protein Technologies. The merger combined Gyros’ microfluidics, systems development and manufacturing expertise with Protein Technologies’ knowledge in developing and manufacturing instruments for peptide synthesis.

As a result, customers of the new company receive an unrivaled range of peptide synthesis and bioanalytical tools for biotherapeutics discovery, development and bioprocessing.

“Our purpose is to connect our Australasian customers with innovative global suppliers -- and we are delighted to represent Gyros Protein Technologies in our market,” Shayne Christensen, CEO at Abacus ALS, said.
