The Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) recently announced that it will host an intellectual property symposium at its 13th Annual World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology.
The symposium, titled “Where IP meets IB,” will happen on April 20 and include two panels consisting of experts. These experts will emphasize the important of intellectual property within the industrial biotechnology field.
This event is the largest industrial biotechnology gathering in the world. It will be hosted from April 17 to 20 in San Diego at the San Diego Convention Center.
The symposium will begin at 8:30 and end at 10 a.m. Sponsors include Robins and Kaplan LLP. The panel is titled “Assessing and Preserving Value in Biotechnology Intellectual Property,” and the goal is to offer advice about maintaining IP value while continuing business with commercializing and using technologies.
“Intellectual Property is critical to protecting innovation and attracting investment for industrial biotech companies,” Brent Erickson, executive vice president for BIO’s Industrial & Environmental Section, said. “Understanding how to properly protect innovation is highly important to the future success of this industry.
