OneTouch Verio Flex monitor uses ColorSure technology for easy blood glucose monitoring

Patients who need to keep track of their blood glucose levels can now use the OneTouch Verio Flex blood glucose monitoring system with ColorSure technology, designed by LifeScan Inc.

The system uses a color range indicator, which makes it clear if readings are low, in range or high. The monitor is also equipped with Bluetooth technology, so it can connect with the OneTouch Reveal mobile app.

“Research shows that ease of use remains a very important reason for meter selection by a majority of patients while, at the same time, one third say they can’t make sense of their blood sugar results,” Jeremy Pettus, assistant professor of medicine at the University of California, San Diego, said. “The new OneTouch Verio Flex meter is designed to help people with diabetes better understand and manage their blood glucose. It provides basic information when all they want to know is their number and if they’re in range -- while the mobile app provides key insights and information sharing, if they’re interested in more.”

The monitor also allows the user to set his or her own low and high-range limits, as well as a 500-test-result memory that includes the readings' date and time.
