CVS/pharmacy introduces new consumer health care tools on website

CVS/pharmacy has unveiled a new website with health insurance tools, resources and information aimed at assisting consumers as they learn about options for health care coverage and choose which Medicare Part D, Health Insurance Marketplace or Medicaid plans are best for them.

The enrollment period for Marketplace plans runs from Nov. 1 to Jan. 31, 2016.

The website, www.cvs.com/healthinsurance (or www.cvs.com/segurodesalud for Spanish-speakikng users), is a one-stop site where consumers can find answers to most queries about Medicare Part D, Marketplace and Medicaid health coverage. They also can access a Health Insurance Marketplace Calculator to get an estimate of their eligibility for subsidies.

"Ensuring that consumers can easily access information to help them make choices about health-insurance coverage that is right for their individual needs is part of our purpose of helping people on their path to better health," Josh Flum, executive vice president of pharmacy services at CVS Health, said.

More than 12,000 events are scheduled at select CVS/pharmacy stores across the country during the open-enrollment period. These events are designed to give customers access to health-plan representatives who can answer questions, as well as to pharmacists, nutritionists and fitness instructors.

More information on these events can be found on the websites.
