Claret Capital Partners has invested €30 million in Carvolix, a French medical technology company, according to an Aug. 12 announcement. Carvolix, formerly known as Affluent Medical, focuses on developing and industrialising AI-driven mini-robots and biomimetic implants for interventional cardiology and ischemic stroke treatment.
Based in Aix-en-Provence, Carvolix aims to transform cardiac valve replacement and stroke therapies. The company said there is significant unmet clinical need and limited patient access to effective treatments in these areas.
Carvolix is developing AI- and imaging-driven mini-robotic technologies intended to expand access to procedures such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI). Its lead product, TAVIpilot, is designed to assist interventional cardiologists during complex procedures where precision and speed are critical.
Structural heart diseases and stroke remain leading causes of mortality and disability worldwide. According to the company, transcatheter valve therapies and thrombectomy require advanced operator expertise that limits access for patients globally. Currently, 1.7 million patients are eligible for TAVI annually but only 17% receive treatment; less than 5% of ischemic stroke patients have access to mechanical thrombectomy worldwide.
