Medilink North of England announced on Mar. 25 that it will celebrate its 30th anniversary with an awards evening on April 30 at Cutlers’ Hall in Sheffield.
The event will bring together leaders from industry, academia, and healthcare to recognize achievements in medical technology, digital health, and innovation. Medilink has played a role over the past three decades in connecting businesses and fostering collaboration across the UK’s life sciences sector.
The celebration will highlight the evolution of the sector from early biotech developments in the 1990s to current advances such as AI-driven diagnostics and wearable health technologies. Award categories include innovation, export achievement, partnership working, emerging companies, sustainability, investment, outstanding achievement, primary/social care partnership, and "one to watch." The event also aims to provide networking opportunities for startups and established firms alike.
Richard Stubbs, Chief Executive Officer at Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber and long-time supporter of the Medilink awards said: “Medilink is such an important part of the UK’s health innovation ecosystem. It is fantastic to be holding this year’s awards back in Sheffield where it all began, recognising how Medilink grew into an organisation that now has a significant global reach and impact. Well done to everyone who has contributed to three decades of success. I look forward to celebrating this special occasion and delighted to be sponsoring this years’ Innovation Award.”
Sponsors for this year’s awards include several regional Health Innovation bodies as well as private organizations such as Clear Capital Exchange and MFL Insurance Group. The Charity Partner for this year is Sheffield Hospitals Charity which supports patients and staff by funding research projects and providing resources beyond NHS budgets.
