James Frith, Labour Member of Parliament for Bury North, announced on Aug. 11 that he has been designated as Minister for Health Innovation at the Department of Health and Social Care.
Frith shared on social media that his new responsibilities will include leading policy areas such as NHS data and technology, medical technology (MedTech), medicines, and men's health. Previously, Frith served as Digital Services Minister.
In addition to Frith's appointment in the House of Commons, Baroness Merron remains the only Health Minister in the House of Lords. She will continue to answer questions and lead government debates related to MedTech in that chamber.
