American Lung Association appoints Vanessa M. Cohen to leadership board

The American Lung Association in Michigan has announced the appointment of Vanessa M. Cohen to its Local Leadership Board. Cohen, known for her work in civic advocacy and project management, is expected to contribute significantly to the association's mission aimed at saving lives.

Cohen expressed her enthusiasm about joining the board, stating, “Being selected to join the Board is a powerful way for me to continue being a voice for underrepresented communities in Detroit and the state of Michigan.” She emphasized her dedication to promoting lung health awareness and encouraging actions that ensure clean air and healthy lungs.

In her professional capacity, Cohen serves as a Program Manager at Huntington National Bank. Her role involves driving strategic initiatives that impact various stakeholders including the community, customers, and colleagues. Additionally, she is actively involved in leading mentorship programs through the African American Business Resource Group and participates in the Southeast Michigan / Northwest Ohio Inclusion Council.
