On May 4, 2024, the American Lung Association in Wisconsin hosted its annual Oxygen Ball - Mission Possible. The event was locally presented by UnitedHealthcare and saw a turnout of 280 guests. Held at Discovery World on Milwaukee’s Lake front, the event raised more than $273,000.
The fundraiser was emceed by Milwaukee Fire Chief Aaron Lipski and Denise Thomas, Founder of The Effective Communication Coach. It included a silent auction, live auction, and a fund-a-need event with all proceeds going towards lung disease and lung cancer research and education.
“The funds raised will help our ongoing efforts to end lung cancer and lung disease,” said Megan Cordova, Executive Director of the Lung Association in Wisconsin. “We are so grateful for everyone in the community who came out to support us and to support lung health.”
In addition to supporting a worthy cause, participants also enjoyed exquisite local cuisine, cocktails, and games.
“It was an unforgettable evening for a great cause,” said Cordova. “The funds raised will help the 689,000 people living with lung disease in Wisconsin.”
Since its inception in 2007, the Oxygen Ball has raised over $5 million dollars.
