FirstNet partners with AT&T to launch program for first responders who 'put their lives on the line every day'

FirstNet confirmed plans to launch a first-responder health and wellness training program through its partnership with AT&T.

"This program has proven successful, and we're hoping our collaboration will allow more first responders to feel equipped both mentally and physically to handle their jobs,” Dr. Anna Fitch Courie, director of responder wellness, told Cision PR Newswire.

The courses, scheduled to be held in five cities based in Florida, Colorado, Michigan, Arizona and Ohio, were founded by former Navy SEALs. Managed by o2x, the training will offer support for tactical athletes and staff requiring physical training strategies, including public safety professionals and other groups who play a role in keeping communities safe.

The idea for the initiative was derived from findings of physical and mental stress among the professionals, and it serves as an effort to maintain the resilience they show when reporting to work for duty.

During the three-day training, participants will learn ways to manage stress levels, mitigate risk of injury, have a proper nutrition and sleeping schedule, and the foundations of movement, among other things.

Testimonies from o2x team members including U.S Special Operations veterans will be featured, as well as strength and conditioning specialists, mental performance experts, PhDs in nutrition and psychology, and sleep scientists.

Recently experiencing its most prosperous quarter, FirstNet has a total of 2.8 million connections currently and connects more than 18,000 agencies, UrgentComm reports. The new training program reinforces AT&T's priorities.

"Our first responders put their lives on the line every day to protect our community, and we take their health and wellness seriously," Courie said, according to Cision PR Newswire.
