In a collaboration with Cleveland Clinic, Select Medical Corp. recently opened the doors to its new 60-bed, state-of-the-art inpatient facility, Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospital, Beachwood, which offers specialty care to Ohio patients recovering from complex conditions.
The facility is the company’s second site, with the first, Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospital, Avon, having opened in late 2015. A third hospital is planned for Bath, Ohio, in November; together, the three facilities are designed to offer greater access to patients requiring high-level care, a Cleveland Clinic release said.
“Together, with Cleveland Clinic, we are bringing world-class care to the greater Cleveland region in the area of medical rehabilitation,” Select Medical President and CEO David Chernow said in the release. “Our joint venture, anchored by a shared mission and commitment to deliver high-quality care and clinical outcomes, continues to grow with the needs of the community it serves.”
The acute care setting has private rooms, equipment for working with individuals affected by stroke, spinal or brain injuries, amputation, orthopedic conditions and neurological disorders, and is staffed with specialist physicians, the release said.
Additionally, the hospital will partner with Select Medical’s Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in New Jersey, which has been ranked among the top 1 percent of U.S. rehabilitation hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, the release said.
