Novartis names new chief digital officer

Novartis recently named Bertrand Bodson as the company's new chief digital officer.

Bodson, who works for Sainsbury's Argos as its chief digital and marketing officer, starts with Novartis on Jan. 1, a Novartis release said.

Bodson will work with Novartis' executive committee, as well as different company crews that guide different parts of the company in order to come up with tactics for the company to thrive digitally.

Bodson will also be in charge of Novartis' plan to improve the way it employs information digitally to find drugs and expand drugs that will help people, the release said.

Bodson brings a wealth of work background in management roles and as a businessman. At Sainsbury's Argos, he took charge of changing that organization from using a classic catalog model to ranking as the third-biggest online seller throughout the United Kingdom, the release said.
