K2M exhibits its Balance ACS platform at International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery meeting

K2M Group Holdings Inc. recently shared its Balance ACS (BACS) platform at the annual meeting of the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery (ISASS) in Boca Raton, Florida.

The exhibit showed how the BACS platform works to provide surgical solutions in balancing the spine with a 360-degree approach, K2M said in a release.

"K2M is excited to participate in this year's ISASS – an important meeting for advancing major evolutionary steps in spine surgery – by showcasing our comprehensive Balance ACS platform of three-dimensional spinal solutions," K2M President and CEO Eric Major said in the release. "We have leveraged our expertise in developing innovative spine products to create Balance ACS, which aims to support the full continuum of care, help drive quality surgical outcomes, and ultimately achieve Total Body Balance for spine patients."

The components of the BACS System include an insurance preauthorization tool that includes specific requirements for payers and patients. It also includes surgical planning technology and 3-D anatomical models to help visualize patient anatomy. The data management system collects, tracks and reports on patient results.

In addition to the BACS system, K2M hosted Techniques to Optimize Spinal Balance on April 12. Dr. Paul Kraemer, an orthopedic surgeon and Indiana University Hospital's assistant professor, facilitated the interactive workshop.
