New partnership formed for Prematurity Awareness Month

Leaders with the March of Dimes and Little Lotus recently made a month-longer partnership to campaign for increased awareness in November, which is Prematurity Awareness Month.

March of Dimes is the nation’s top nonprofit in baby and mom-related health while preventing premature birth. Little Lotus is an innovative line of baby products, part of Embrace Innovations, a health tech social enterprise.

Together, the companies will launch the campaign for the March of Dimes.

"Premature birth is a serious problem in the United States, and March of Dimes is our country's biggest champion in the fight against it," Embrace Innovations CEO Jane Chen said. "The March of Dimes mission couldn't be more aligned with the mission and values of Embrace Innovations and our consumer product line, Little Lotus. Since our founding, we have strived to help save preterm infants around the world, so we are thrilled to support March of Dimes, and babies right here at home, in this way."

Every year, there are 380,000 premature births, which could cause the children to later experience various health problems, such as jaundice, breathing problems, cerebral palsy, vision loss and intellectual delays.

"We are truly excited to have this new partnership with Little Lotus," Dr. Jennifer Howse, president of the March of Dimes, said. "This is a company that combines a unique blend of passion and commerce -- helping to give every baby a fighting chance and healthy start. We are truly lucky to have partners like Little Lotus that share our commitment to supporting moms and saving babies."
