Leukemia & Lymphoma Society hosts Silicon Valley Light the Night Walk at Avaya Stadium

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) hosted the Silicon Valley Light the Night Walk on Oct. 22 at Avaya Stadium, home of the San Jose Earthquakes.

Corporate sponsors of the event included Silicon Valley Bank, Western Digital, the Earthquakes and BD Biosciences.

"We are extremely grateful for the generous support of our Silicon Valley partners," LLS Executive Director Courtney Karnes said. "These corporations have fully embraced the mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and their generosity helps us fund critical research and treatments that are saving the lives of cancer patients today."

Silicon Valley Bank is the innovation partner for the event and a co-presenting sponsor of the walk. Western Digital’s SanDisk is a presenting-level sponsor. The Earthquakes, as the host sponsor, will provide the venue and link the team name to the pediatric research portfolio. BD Biosciences plans to host a mission-focused area at the walk, which will tell its story in advancing cures for blood cancer patients.

"Silicon Valley Bank has a long history of partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as part of our charter to fund innovation," Joan Parsons, executive vice president at Silicon Valley Bank, said. "We are truly honored to continue to support the invaluable work being done by the Silicon Valley Chapter of LLS."
