Life sciences professionals seeking employment in Cambridge, Massachusetts, may find more opportunities as job postings for the area increased by 120 percent year over year, according to a July 22 report. The number of available positions began trending upward in February, experienced a slight dip in May, and rose again last month.
The increase is reflected across several major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies operating in Cambridge. Intellia Therapeutics currently has around 40 jobs open, with roles such as vice president of gene editing core, senior director of quality management systems and compliance, and manager of commercial systems.
Regeneron is offering about a dozen openings including scientist-analytical development for Regeneron cell medicines, senior toxicologist, and senior manager clinical study lead for clinical experimental sciences. Sanofi leads with over 100 available roles including senior associate scientist, clinical research director, and director of commercial transformation.
AbbVie has several positions open such as associate scientist in cellular/molecular biochemistry II; senior scientist II specializing in rheumatology; and senior principal scientist within the immune cell depletion discovery group focused on immunology discovery research. Amgen is also recruiting for several positions including senior quality engineer; process development senior scientist for pivotal drug product technologies; and device engineering senior engineer.
Moderna rounds out the list with over 50 openings that include scientist roles in oncology bioinformatics, manager of biomarker operations, and senior research associate specializing in vivo pharmacology. These opportunities highlight an active hiring landscape for life sciences professionals interested in joining pharmaceutical or biotech firms based in Cambridge.
