HiArc announces launch of first commercial product at MD&M West 2026

HiArc is set to introduce its first commercial product at MD&M West 2026, marking the company's debut at the event. The company, a Contract Design and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO), will present its full range of development capabilities for medical and diagnostic instrumentation during the exhibition in February.

HiArc brings decades of experience in developing complex platforms for the medical and diagnostics sector. Its engineering expertise covers areas such as microfluidics, optics, robotics, and thermal control. These elements are combined to create integrated systems with built-in Design for Manufacturability (DFM).

“As Med-Tech developers increasingly demand turnkey solutions that combine high-throughput, regulatory compliance, and reliability, especially for next-generation assays, HiArc’s integrated model offers a compelling alternative to siloed outsourcing,” said Nate Doemling, President of HiArc. “We’re excited to meet fellow innovators at MD&M West and show how an integrated engineering and manufacturing approach can accelerate development, reduce risk, and ultimately help bring better medical and diagnostic solutions to patients faster.”

The company will unveil a new system that integrates both hardware and software into a single ecosystem designed for medical technology applications. This architecture supports teams from prototype through production by providing a stable foundation intended to lower risk and speed up development.

“KMC and HiArc engineers have been using this control system for almost 20 years to efficiently develop the automation of medical instruments. We are excited to make this sophisticated development tool available to other companies so that they may quickly prototype ideas and evolve the designs into production,” said Tim Patno, VP of Engineering and Innovation at HiArc.

Formerly known as KMC Systems since its founding in 1980, HiArc rebranded in July 2025 to better reflect its focus on bespoke solutions tailored around client needs.

MD&M West is recognized as North America’s largest event dedicated to medical design and manufacturing. It brings together professionals from across the MedTech industry—including innovators, engineers, manufacturers, and suppliers—to discuss emerging technologies shaping future medical devices.

Attendees interested in learning more about HiArc’s offerings or exploring partnership opportunities can visit booth 3867 during MD&M West 2026 from February 3-5.

Doemling also recently appeared on Med-Tech Insights’ video interview series on YouTube where he discussed ways start-ups can avoid common engineering challenges in diagnostic product development.
