The Neuron Clinic has introduced a new Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care Center at its San Marcos location, equipped with the NeuroLF brain PET system developed by Swiss company Positrigo. This move is intended to enhance access to advanced neurological diagnostics within community settings.
The NeuroLF system will be central to the clinic’s efforts in diagnosing and managing cognitive decline. As blood-based biomarkers become more common for early detection, there is increasing need for confirmatory brain PET scans to determine treatment eligibility and monitor response. The adoption of such technology within local neurology practices is expected to reduce diagnostic delays and keep patient care pathways within a single practice.
According to the announcement, The Neuron Clinic is the first independent neurology practice in the United States to both own and operate a NeuroLF system. This enables patients to receive dedicated brain PET imaging directly at their neurologist’s office rather than traveling to hospitals or external facilities.
Dr. Jose Soria, Medical Director of the program, commented on this shift: “shortens the time to diagnosis, strengthens continuity of care, and ensures patients can receive evaluation, imaging, and treatment in a single, trusted environment—close to where they live.”
Dr. Branko Huisa, Founder and Medical Director of The Neuron Clinic, added: “Launching our Alzheimer’s & Dementia Center with NeuroLF at its core represents a transformation in how we can serve patients experiencing memory loss and cognitive symptoms. Accurate diagnosis is the single most important step in providing effective care. With NeuroLF, we can identify Alzheimer’s disease earlier, with greater precision, and in an environment that is accessible and supportive for patients and their families.”
Positrigo describes its NeuroLF platform as compact and cost-effective while offering high-quality molecular imaging capabilities suited for dementia evaluations through detection of amyloid plaques and other neurodegenerative biomarkers.
Dr. Jannis Fischer, Co-Founder and CEO of Positrigo stated: “This collaboration embodies our mission to broaden access to advanced brain imaging. By installing NeuroLF at the point of care, The Neuron Clinic is helping to ensure that patients with suspected Alzheimer’s or other dementias receive faster and more accurate diagnostic information. We are proud to support the launch of their Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care Center and are excited about the impact this will have on patient care and community health.”
The new center aims to integrate advanced imaging with neurological assessments and individualized treatment planning for those seeking clarity about cognitive decline.
