Baylor College of Medicine and Hess Toy Truck have announced the release of their 2025 STEM guide, "Ready, Set, STEM!", marking the tenth year of their partnership to provide hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics activities for students and educators across the United States. The new guide is designed for kindergarten through eighth grade students and uses the 2025 Hess Stock Car Racers as a central tool for learning.
Developed by Baylor's Huffington Department of Education, Innovation and Technology’s Center for Educational Outreach, the guide features eight activities that allow students to build test models, design ramps, and explore concepts such as potential and kinetic energy, aerodynamics, gravity, and force. The resource is available at no cost to families and educators through the BioEd online platform.
Justin Mayer, general manager of Hess Toy Truck, said: “For a decade, our collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine has helped students nationwide experience the excitement of STEM in a way that is both memorable and fun. We’re proud that the Hess Toy Truck continues to spark curiosity, creativity and real problem-solving skills that inspire the innovators and changemakers of tomorrow.”
The ongoing collaboration between Baylor College of Medicine and Hess Toy Truck has resulted in more than 70 lessons over ten years. Past guides have focused on vehicles such as rescue trucks, police cars, recreational vehicles, and aircraft.
Dr. Nancy Moreno, chair of the Huffington Department of Education, Innovation and Technology at Baylor College of Medicine and director of its Center for Educational Outreach stated: “Our collaboration with Hess Toy Truck brings the wonders of engineering, physical science and technology to life for students.”
