Empower returns as presenting sponsor for Fight For Air Climb in Kansas City

Empower has been named the presenting sponsor for the American Lung Association in Kansas and Greater Kansas City’s 11th Annual Fight For Air Climb. The event is scheduled for Sunday, March 1 at One Kansas City Place.

The Fight For Air Climb invites individuals, families, and corporate teams to ascend the tower to raise funds and awareness for lung disease research and support. Participants will climb 42 floors, which equals a total of 902 steps.

William Jeffries, Senior Vice President of Operations at Empower, stated: “Empower is proud to again be the presenting sponsor for this year’s annual Fight For Air Climb. I’ve personally participated in the event many times, and I’m humbled each and every year. This annual event provides our community the opportunity to come together to increase awareness for lung health -- and hopefully our efforts will soon help defeat lung disease.”

Linda Crider, executive director of the Lung Association, said: “Some 467,000 people in Kansas and more than one million Missourians are living with lung disease. People can literally step up to help find a cure for lung disease at our climb. Funds raised will go to local services, programs and research we provide throughout Kansas and Greater Kansas City.”

The first group of climbers is set to start at 9:30 a.m. on March 1. More information about registration can be found at KCClimb.org.
