Baylor College of Medicine announces 2025 Alumni Awards honorees

Baylor College of Medicine has announced the recipients of its 2025 Alumni Awards, honoring 12 alumni and faculty members for their achievements in patient care, research, and education. The awards ceremony is scheduled for October 23 at Hotel ZaZa in Houston’s Museum District.

The Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest recognition given by Baylor, will go to Matthew J. Wall, M.D., and Stuart Yudofsky, M.D. Wall is recognized for his work in trauma and cardiothoracic surgery, particularly his contributions to limited fluid resuscitation and damage control surgery. “The Lifetime Achievement Award is a tremendous honor,” Wall said. “Throughout my 45-year association with Baylor, I have encountered countless talented mentors, colleagues, collaborators and friends – all of us grateful for the opportunity to contribute to teaching, research and better patient care.”

Yudofsky has played a key role in establishing neuropsychiatry as a subspecialty that connects neurology and psychiatry. “To be acknowledged in this way by my fellow alumni, for whom I have such deep admiration and affection, and to be included among the illustrious previous recipients of this award, whom we all hold in such high esteem, is an honor beyond my ability to express,” Yudofsky said.
