American Lung Association announces new national board members for 2025-2026

The American Lung Association has announced its board of directors for the 2025-2026 term. The announcement was made following a board meeting held on June 28 in Chicago, where three new members were elected to join the national board. The board is responsible for overseeing the organization’s strategy and governance.

Harold Wimmer, President and CEO of the American Lung Association, addressed the current challenges facing lung health initiatives. “This is a critical time for lung health and the work of the American Lung Association as public health and research communities navigate significant challenges. Proven and effective public health programs have lost funding, lifesaving research has halted and rules that protect communities from deadly air pollution are being overturned,” said Wimmer. “We are honored to have incredible leaders across the country who are committed to advancing our mission, and the new board members who joined this year will provide invaluable experience to help guide our organization.”

The newly elected board members include Denise Lee, an attorney and lung cancer survivor; Eddie Fisher, vice president of investments at Eddie Fisher Wealth Strategies of Raymond James; and Kathryn Blake, Pharm.D., Director of the Center for Pharmacogenomics and Translational Research and Principal Research Scientist at Nemours Children’s Health.
