Wildfire smoke impacts Wisconsin's air quality; alerts issued

Areas in the Midwest, including parts of Wisconsin, are experiencing a decline in air quality due to smoke from Canadian wildfires. This situation has led several communities to issue air quality alerts. The smoke is particularly harmful to sensitive groups such as children, older adults, and individuals with respiratory conditions like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

The American Lung Association has provided six tips to help people avoid lung irritation and other health complications resulting from increased air pollution.
