American Lung Association invites runners for Sydney Marathon 2025

The American Lung Association (ALA) is inviting runners to join its Powered by Lungs Race Team for the upcoming TCS Sydney Marathon scheduled for August 31, 2025, in Sydney, Australia. Following a successful debut at the Berlin Marathon last year, the ALA is extending its international presence by securing entries for the Paris, Sydney, and Berlin Marathons this year. The focus now is on attracting participants for the Sydney Marathon, which recently achieved recognition as the seventh event in the Abbott World Marathon Majors (AWMM). This inclusion places Sydney alongside other prestigious cities such as Tokyo, Boston, and New York in the AWMM series.

The American Lung Association has been leading efforts in lung health for over 120 years. Runners participating with the Powered by Lungs Race Team will aid the ALA's mission of advancing lung research, education, and advocacy. The organization emphasizes the dual purpose of the event, allowing athletes to push their physical boundaries while contributing to efforts that support individuals affected by lung disease. More information and applications for the race team are available online.
