Techstars and Northwestern Medicine unveil inaugural startup class

The Northwestern Medicine and Techstars Healthcare Accelerator has announced the selection of startups for its inaugural class. This program aims to support healthcare startups by providing resources, mentorship, and a network to help them grow within the healthcare industry.

Brad Schnitzer, Managing Director of the Accelerator at Techstars, emphasized the competitiveness of this year's selection process. "The talent and passion of these founders are exceptional, and we’re excited to help them over the next 13-weeks," he stated. Schnitzer also praised Northwestern Medicine's involvement: "Northwestern’s support is invaluable, and we’re thrilled to be collaborating with such a hands-on health system."

The accelerator program will take place over three months at Northwestern Medicine’s Mansueto Innovation Institute in Chicago. Doug King, Chief Information Officer at Northwestern Medicine, expressed enthusiasm for supporting the selected startups. “We are excited to support this well-deserving inaugural class as they build the next wave of health care innovation,” he said.

The startups chosen for the 2025 class include:

- Decimal Code from Chicago, IL, which focuses on eliminating operational waste through automated medical coding.

- LastMinute from Boston, MA, which uses AI to optimize healthcare workforce management.

- efficientSC from New York, NY, which helps hospitals manage supply disruptions effectively.

- Aimedica from Birmingham, AL, which offers evidence-based EHR automation.

- ExactRx from Nashville, TN, which aims to create AI-native environments in care facilities.

- Voythos from Houston, TX, which applies Multimodal AI to cardiovascular disease management.

A Demo Day is scheduled for June 5, 2025. During this event, these startups will present their innovations to mentors, investors, and leaders in the healthcare industry.
