Fight For Air Climb Charlotte returns on March 29

The American Lung Association in North Carolina is organizing the Fight For Air Climb Charlotte, set to take place on March 29. The event will be held at The VUE, a prominent residential building in the Carolinas, where participants will climb 51 stories.

Dr. John Doty, vice chair of the Lung Association’s North Carolina Local Leadership Board and medical director at Atrium Health, emphasized the importance of the event: “For more than a decade, our community has stepped up to raise awareness and critical funding to support the nearly 1.7 million North Carolinians who live with lung disease and fight for every breath.”

This year marks the twelfth edition of this stair-climbing event in Charlotte. It caters to all participants, from beginners to competitive climbers and first responders in gear. The climb allows individuals to choose their pace as they ascend The VUE's 51 flights.

The event supports efforts to combat lung cancer and improve air quality while promoting tobacco-free living. Stair climbing offers health benefits such as improved balance and muscle strength and may reduce mortality risk.

Individuals and teams are invited to register for the event. More information can be found at ClimbCharlotte.org.
