Wisconsin's Lung Association board receives top distinction for fourth year

The American Lung Association has announced that its Wisconsin Local Leadership Board has received the Gold Standard level of service for the fourth consecutive year. This distinction acknowledges the board's efforts in fundraising, mission execution, awareness building, and advocacy to support lung health and disease prevention.

Sharon deGuzman, Chair of the American Lung Association in Wisconsin Local Leadership Board, expressed her satisfaction with this recognition. "I am thrilled to accept this honor on behalf of the American Lung Association in Wisconsin’s Leadership Board whose singular vision always has been to make our state a healthier and better place to live," she said. DeGuzman emphasized the ongoing commitment to combating lung disease: "Until lung disease is eliminated, we continue to welcome leaders from across Wisconsin to join us in this important mission."

To achieve the Gold Standard distinction, leadership boards must meet rigorous benchmarks related to board operations. These include ensuring diversity, equity, inclusion, participation, as well as engaging in fundraising and mission activities within their regions. Only eleven out of 41 leadership boards have attained this level.
