Dr. Sameer Sheth receives $200K grant for pediatric epilepsy research

Dr. Sameer Sheth has been awarded a $200,000 grant from the Jasper L. and Jack Denton Wilson Foundation. Dr. Sheth holds multiple roles including professor and vice chair of research in the Department of Neurosurgery at Baylor College of Medicine, McNair Scholar, Cullen Foundation Endowed Chair, and director of the Cain Laboratories at the Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children’s Hospital.

The grant aims to support Dr. Sheth and his team in their ongoing pediatric epilepsy research. The focus is on enhancing the research infrastructure within Texas Children’s Hospital Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. This initiative seeks to enable detailed studies into the neural basis of seizures as well as the cognitive, learning, and mental health impacts associated with childhood epilepsy.
