Gilchrist/Bissell Wealth Management of Raymond James has reaffirmed its commitment to lung health by sponsoring the Charleston LUNG FORCE Run/Walk on November 9. The American Lung Association in South Carolina expressed appreciation for the company's continued support.
Banks Marion, an advisor at Gilchrist/Bissell Wealth Management and a member of the Lung Association’s South Carolina Leadership Board, stated, “We're proud to continue our partnership with the American Lung Association on the LUNG FORCE Run/Walk and unite our community as one mighty force for lung health.” He added that they are eager to bring the Lowcountry community together to raise awareness and funds for lung disease while enjoying exercise.
The event will take place at Folly Beach County Park, offering participants a unique 5K route along the beach. It is open to individuals of all fitness levels, including lung cancer survivors, caregivers, families, company teams, and pets. Participants are encouraged to wear turquoise, symbolizing hope.
Funds raised from the event will support research and local programs benefiting over 569,000 South Carolinians affected by lung diseases such as lung cancer and COPD. Despite being the leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S., increased awareness and advancements have improved survival rates by 44% over the past decade.
The run/walk begins at 9 a.m. at the Dunes House. Registration details can be found at LUNGFORCE.org/Charleston.
