American Lung Association's LUNG FORCE Walk returns to Wheaton’s Cantigny Park

The American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE Walk, presented by Northwestern Medicine, will return to Wheaton’s Cantigny Park in October. The event invites walkers, families, and teams from across Greater Chicago to participate on Sunday, October 20th. This family-friendly event aims to support the Lung Association’s mission to improve lung health and enhance the lives of people throughout the state.

Participants can choose between a 5K or 1.5-mile route that traverses both indoor and outdoor sections of Cantigny Park. The event will also feature a family health and resource fest with live music, a Kids Zone, free dental kits from Delta Dental, flu shots provided by CVS Health, and free radon kits. Walkers are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes, and children with asthma will receive free superhero capes.

Registration for the walk is free. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. at Cantigny Park (1S151 Winfield Rd) in Wheaton, with the walk commencing at 10:00 a.m. Interested participants can visit LUNGFORCE.org/Chicago for registration and additional information about the event.

According to statistics, more than 1.8 million residents of Illinois suffer from lung disease, including just over one million individuals in the Greater Chicago area. Annually, more than 9,000 people in Illinois die due to lung disease. Funds raised from this walk will support the Lung Association's initiatives in research, education, and advocacy aimed at preventing lung disease.
