Heartland Soccer partners with Lung Association for lung health awareness campaign

This fall, the American Lung Association is collaborating with the Heartland Soccer Association and Olathe-based The Rub Bar B Que to raise awareness about lung health. Heartland Soccer, recognized as the largest soccer league and tournament host in the United States, attracts 4.8 million visitors annually to its soccer parks. Founded in 1977, Heartland is a 501C3 organization focused on "Building Better Lives Through Soccer" for youth ages 9-19.

These organizations aim to educate youth and parents on anti-vaping, asthma, and clean air while fundraising at three youth soccer tournaments. Patrons who donate a minimum of $5 to the Lung Association will receive a coupon for a free pulled pork sandwich from The Rub Bar B Que, valued at $10.

“This is a thrilling new opportunity for the Lung Association to reach youth and parents about our mission to promote healthy lungs and lifestyles,” said Linda Crider, executive director of the Lung Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City. “We’re excited to be part of a fan-favorite event in the Greater Kansas City area.”
