American Lung Association Celebrates 10 Years of Hope at the LUNG FORCE Walk New York City on May 18

The American Lung Association in New York is gearing up to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the LUNG FORCE Walk New York City, set to take place on May 18 at the South Street Seaport, Pier 16. This milestone event has had a significant impact on the local community, survivors, and families over the past decade.

One of the key sponsors of the event, Cipla USA, expressed their commitment to the cause. Arunesh Verma, President & CEO of Cipla North America, stated, "Our commitment to providing high-quality treatments for lung ailments drives our participation, energizing us to continue this journey with the Lung Association, bringing respiratory care closer to those in need."

Executive Director of the American Lung Association in Metro New York, Erica Masin, highlighted the achievements of the LUNG FORCE Walk, stating, "LUNG FORCE has raised millions for lung disease research, including $30 million dedicated to lung cancer, expanding our research commitment by 286%."

Dr. Jason Shaw, Director of General Thoracic Surgery at Maimonides Cancer Center, expressed his team's pride in supporting the event each year. He emphasized the importance of raising awareness about lung cancer and the significance of early detection and breakthrough treatments.

The LUNG FORCE Walk NYC aims to raise critical funds for lung cancer and chronic lung disease research, education, and awareness. Participants will walk either a 1-mile or 3-mile route, enjoying scenic views of the Brooklyn Bridge while supporting the cause.

As lung cancer remains a leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S., events like the LUNG FORCE Walk play a crucial role in raising awareness and funds for research. The event not only supports those affected by lung diseases but also promotes a healthier environment and aims to reduce the burden of tobacco-related illnesses.

Individuals are encouraged to join the LUNG FORCE Walk NYC to contribute to the American Lung Association's efforts in defeating lung cancer, improving air quality, and supporting individuals and families affected by lung disease. To learn more and register for the event, visit LUNGFORCE.org/NYC.
