CEO of Gillette Children's in Minnesota: 'We are thrilled to partner with Notable to give our families access to care at their own pace'

Gillette Children's, which provides specialty care in Minnesota, has partnered with Notable to integrate an automated system to streamline a patient's experience by automating scheduling, pre-visit registration, appointment reminders and clinical intake forms.

Through a partnership announced on Tuesday, California-based Notable’s platform would drive scheduling, pre-visit registration, appointment reminders and automated clinical intake forms, according to a news release.

In the release, Gillette Children’s President and CEO Barbara Joers said the automated system will ease the burden on staffs when it comes to administrative details and let them focus their attention on patient care. The new system also will allow families to access care on their own schedule without extended waits.

"As a specialty hospital focused on children with complex conditions, our families have many scheduling and registration needs,” Joers said in the news release. “It is critical that we remove points of friction from the process and help them navigate care without frustration or long wait times. We are thrilled to partner with Notable to give our families access to care at their own pace, while freeing up our staff to focus on caregiving with compassion."

Gillette used Notable’s platforms in 11 clinics with plans to roll out Notable’s Scheduling Assistant going forward. During the first month of using the Notable platform, staff saved 5 minutes with each new patient and 3 minutes with existing patients, and nursing staff saw a 90-minute drop in phone calls over the course of a week by automating forms for injected spasticity medications, the release said.

The time savings, according to the news release, benefitted Gillette families who typically have to make multiple visits, often on the same day or several days, providing a leaner and more efficient patient experience.

The Notable platform paired artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic process automation (RPA) to automate administrative tasks via Patent AI sorting medical records and third-party information to learn about patients, the release said. The end result, according to the release, is the assembly of personalized recommendations shared with patients.

Moreover, the news release said Gillette Children’s saw a rate of 99.5% of families being able to complete the Notable intake process, and those who complete the process report satisfaction rates of 99%.
