Internship program for students with disabilities accepting applications for summer 2018 sessions

The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) Washington DC Summer Internship Program for Students with Disabilities is now accepting applications to the 2018 summer program.

The program is for students in college, law school, recent graduates or other graduates and professional students who have some form of disability, a posting on the Easterseals website said.

During the course of the internship, the students will work on Capitol Hill or at federal agencies for 10 weeks in the area of public service.

The program is fine-tuned to the needs of each student, and a mentor is assigned to the student who will help them work toward their career goals, the posting said. Another benefit of this program is that there is stipend and transportation, as well as fully accessible housing.

The application deadline is Nov. 6, 2017.
