ALS Association initiative getting a Major League Baseball boost

The ALS Association has teamed up with Major League Baseball (MLB) to raise money for the ALS Home Health Initiative, which the ALS Association launched Aug. 1.

MLB Major League Baseball said it is giving $50,000 through its MLB Fights ALS Campaign as part of the effort to raise $1 million for the initiative, an ALS Foundastion release said. 

The ALS Association is raising the money to help a portion of the people who battle ALS with their expenses. The association estimated that medical expensesof those fighting ALS can go over $250,000

All 30 Major League Baseball teams are on board with the league to help raise the money for the initiative, the release said. 

The MLB Fights ALS Campaign will be running the entire month of August, the release said.
