American Heart Association garners top employer honors

The American Heart Association (AHA) said in a release it has been named as a top employer in two separate publication’s lists, maintaining the organization’s consistent high rankings over the past several years.

The AHA, a global nonprofit, was selected as one of Fortune Magazine’s Best Workplaces in Health Care and Great Place to Work for 2017. The nonprofit was also named Best Nonprofits To Work For by The NonProfit Times. The new rankings mark the second consecutive year the AHA has been named Great Place To Work, the fourth time it was ranked by Fortune, and the seventh time it has been named by The NonProfit Times.

“These top honors showcase our continuing effort to create an environment that helps our people shine professionally, while thriving personally,” AHA CEO Nancy Brown said in the release. “(The awards are) a testament to our strong commitment to a culture of constant innovation where employees are encouraged to openly express thoughts and ideas.”

The AHA ranked fourth in the NonProfit Times’ large nonprofit category and 23rd overall. The organization placed number 20 on the Great Place To Work and in Fortune Magazine Best Workplaces in Health Care rankings.
