New HHS secretary called 'friend, partner, leader'

The chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee described Dr. Tom Price as exactly the leader America needs to take over Health and Human Services following Price's Senate confirmation, the committee announced recently.

“I applaud the Senate for voting to confirm my friend and colleague, Tom Price, as secretary of Health and Human Services," Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) said. "Dr. Price and I have worked together on the Ways and Means Committee to improve our nation’s health care system for Americans of all walks of life. I look forward to continuing our efforts in his new role."

Brady said Price's top priority will be making sure Americans are no longer constrained by the Affordable Care Act.

"He’s just the partner and leader we need at HHS to deliver on our promise to the American people: access to quality, affordable health care," Brady said. "We’re ready to work with the Trump Administration to provide much-needed relief from Obamacare and move forward with commonsense health care reforms.”
