Officials from Pricewaterhouse Cooper (PwC) Charitable Foundation Inc. have announced plans to give the Easter Seals Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Services a financial boost with a four-year grant worth $1.2 million.
The Dixon Center's mission is to help military service members who are coming to the end of their military careers transition into civilian life, offering employment training and access to community resources for them and their families.
With the PwC funding, program offerings at seven locations throughout the country will be increased.
“The PwC Charitable Foundation is focused on grant-making that can have a profound effect on underserved populations, and I’m proud that this includes our active duty military service members, veterans and their families who have sacrificed for our country,” Frank Gaudio, veterans’ liaison for the PwC Charitable Foundation, said. “Investing in Easter Seals Dixon Center’s unique approach of supporting veterans before they exit the military is one way the PwC Charitable Foundation is enabling a path for job training and placement for veterans transitioning into civilian life.”
The development programs offered through the Dixon Center have been available since 2014.
“Our collaboration with PwC Charitable Foundation is different because it supports service members before they exit the military and provides a clear path for quality of life,” David Sutherland, retired colonel in the U.S. Army and chairman of Easter Seals Dixon Center, said. “We assist transitioning veterans and military families.”
