Deloitte, American Diabetes Association collaborate on diabetes competition

Deloitte recently partnered with the American Diabetes Association of Illinois for the “Venture to Stop Diabetes Challenge,” a competition that aims to bring entrepreneurs, community-based innovators and others with novel solutions into the diabetes field.

The goal of the collaboration is to bring these innovative solutions into the care, management and education of the diabetes field.

“At Deloitte, we understand the importance of innovation in addressing public health issues and are committed to helping those impacted by diabetes and other chronic diseases,” Rajeev Ronanki, principal and lead of Deloitte Consulting LLP's cognitive computing and health care innovation practices, said. “One example is our investment in innovative cognitive technologies that transform patient engagement and chronic disease care management.”

The competition has already chosen six finalists throughout the U.S., who have been selected based on their innovative proposals submitted to the competition. All six of the finalists will be at the American Diabetes Association EXPO on April 9 in Chicago, where they will compete against one another for the challenge’s grand prize.

“We are proud to work with the American Diabetes Association of Illinois, in conjunction with the broader Chicagoland community, in identifying unique solutions for the diabetes epidemic,” Ronanki said. “We look forward to helping replicate the success of programs like the 'Venture to Stop Diabetes Challenge' nationwide.”
