National Human Genome Research Institute offers online aid in genomics care

The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) set up a website to help nurses and health professionals seeking to offer genomics care to patients.

Clinical educators and other experts have compiled the Method for Introducing a New Competency (MINC) Genomics website which provides a plethora of information about genomics, a National Institutes of Health release said.

"The MINC toolkit is a starting point for health care providers who want to promote genomic integration into practice to benefit their patients,” Laura Lyman Rodriguez, director of the NHGRI Division of Policy, Communication and Education, said in the release.

The website also includes testimonials in video format, voiced from the perspectives of individuals who have benefited from increased knowledge of the field of genomics, the release said.
