Ohio State University hospital makes 'best hospitals' list
Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has been named one of the best hospitals in the country for the 25th year in a row, according to the U.S. News & Word Report's Aug. 8 list of "Best Hospitals."
The hospital was ranked as central Ohio's No. 1 hospital, and the third best in the state, coming right after Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals of Cleveland. According to the list, Ohio State leads nationally in seven areas: ear, nose and throat (otolaryngology); nephrology; cardiology and heart surgery; neurology and neurosurgery; cancer; pulmonology; and diabetes and endocrinology.
Ohio State was also recognized as being high-performing in the areas of gastroenterology and GI surgery; geriatrics; orthopedics; rehabilitation; and urology.
