Fujifilm Medical Systems recalls duodenoscope

Fujifilm Medical Systems is recalling its ED-530XT duodenoscope, a tool that looks at the duodenum, which is the first part of the small intestine.

Fujifilm Medical Systems recalling the device to replace particular pieces to reduce the people's risk of harm because that particular duodenoscope is not properly reprocessed, according to a press release.

Fujifilm Medical Systems is contacting those who bought the ED-530XT duodenoscopes by October to explain details of sending back the duodenoscopes. The device can continue being used until the company is in contact, Fujifilm Medical Systems said.

Fujifilm Medical Systems also will send out new operating manuals to use instead of the ones that they have at this time. The company is asking those with the ED-530XT to discontinue using the old manual when they receive the new one.
