University of Illinois Health Services named ‘Most Wired’

University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UI Health) said it recently was named "Most Wired" health care organization for 2017 by Hospitals & Health Networks for using technology to improve operations.

This year marks the 11th time UI Health has garnered the award in the past 12 years, a UI Health release said.

According to the July 10 release, the “Most Wired” category in which UI has excelled is voted on by more than 700 peers from 2,100 hospitals across the country. To earn the distinction, which UI has taken for the last seven years in a row, candidates must be at the forefront of using technology to guard patient information and ensure smooth business operations.

"For two decades, UI Health has been investing in health care information technology to support our clinicians as they provide care," Audrius Polikaitis, UI Health’s chief information officer, said in the release. "We are proud of the numerous advancements that we have made.”
