Medicare resources for 2017 made available online

Medicare provides many resources to patients, especially online.

Four of these resources include information on Medicare Part B, information on Medicare Part D, a video highlighting the Part D Extra Help Program for low-income patients, and an e-newsletter called "The Catalyst" delivered every Monday.

The Part B resource page includes information on what is covered under Part B including physician visits, outpatient care, ambulance services and medical equipment. The page also links to Part B Costs and proposed changes to Part B care.

The Part D resource page describes who and what is covered under the plan -- prescription drug coverage for seniors and people with disabilities. The page also highlights the success experienced by Part D since its creation 10 years ago. The Part D Extra Help Program helps those with low incomes afford their medications by waiving or lowering premiums, deductibles and out-of-pocket costs.

"The Catalyst," which is emailed every Monday to subscribers, contains up-to-date information on Medicare programs and changes which are important for patients to know so they are not surprised by any changes and so they can learn self-advocate for necessary changes and know how to get involved in issues that may affect them.
