Freddie Mac, Easter Seals partner to help veterans, seniors find affordable housing
Easter Seals representatives from offices in Atlanta, Georgia; Orlando, Florida; and New Brunswick-Sayreville, New Jersey will work alongside staffers from Freddie Mac to host counseling sessions and workshops dealing with issues such as personal finances and housing options.
“(This partnership) has the potential to help more than 10,000 Easter Seals clients and caregivers realize their housing and financial goals," Danny Gardner, Freddie Mac vice president of affordable lending, said. "By working with Easter Seals’ service network, including Easter Seals Dixon Center and local Easter Seals affiliates, we can better reach, inform and empower more families of veterans, senior citizens, caregivers and people living with disabilities who are striving for better housing opportunities."
Educational events will take place in all the cities in the pilot program and will be tailored to fit the needs of participants in individual areas.
Easter Seals and Freddie Mac’s Borrower Help Centers plan to hold educational events on a range of personal finance and housing topics in each pilot city.
Randy Rutta, president and CEO of Easter Seals, said the organization assists two million families.
"Freddie Mac shares our passion for helping veterans, caregivers and people with disabilities address life’s challenges and achieve personal goals," he said.
