Expo gives lawmakers hands-on view of health care innovation

U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-IL) was several American lawmakers who attended the Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC) Healthcare Innovation Expo on Nov. 3 in Washington, D.C.

More than 150 members of Congress came out to see new service, technologies and medicines at the expo. They were able to interactively study new tools and treatments, which were showcased by 15 of the United States' leading health care companies and organizations, including Medtronic, Novartis, Walgreens, Merck and Johnson and Johnson.

The HLC,  a coalition of executives from hospitals, health plans, biotech firms pharmacies and other health care industries, hosts the event each year with the goal of offering hands-on experiences and demonstrations. The companies at the event come from a variety of health care sectors.
